About the committee

An exciting opportunity exists for existing stallholders, interested community members and market industry experts to join the St Kilda Esplanade Market Reference Committee.

The composition of the Committee is as follows:

  • two Councillor representatives
  • up to four Esplanade Market stallholders who have not previously been appointed to the previous Committee
  • up to two Port Phillip community members (who are not St Kilda Esplanade Market stallholders)
  • up to two people with expertise in markets, arts and craft, marketing or another relevant field. 

The purpose of the St Kilda Esplanade Market Reference Committee is to assist Council by providing advice and feedback in relation to strategic direction of the market including:

  • annual review of a St Kilda Market Esplanade Market Strategic Plan as approved by Council
  • provision of advice on the implementation of Strategic Plan directions
  • provision of advice on development of marketing and advertising strategy
  • provision of advice on communication mechanisms with stallholders, community and other stakeholders;
  • provision of advice on business and operational planning.

Meeting availability

It is anticipated that the Reference Committee will meet four times a year for 1 hour per meeting via online platform Teams – meeting is held between 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm.
